Report examines e-payment and e-commerce markets, provides outlook for 2020

Dubai – 20 April 2015 – After the enormous success of the PAYFORT’s “State of Payments in the Arab World” last year, PAYFORT is pleased to announce that it will release 2015’s edition of the report at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) and the Ecommerce Show Middle East events in Dubai this May.

2014’s State of Payments in the Arab World was mentioned in major publications including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Wamda, Entrepreneur ME Magazine. The report to date has resulted in thousands of individual report downloads from representatives of different industries. The 2015 edition of the report has been expanded to include even more important information for companies inside or outside the e-payment sector that hope to grow.

“We at PAYFORT are excited to announce the publication date of our yearly analysis of online payment trends in the Arab world. This year, we used the data we have gathered to make important predictions about what e-commerce in the Arab world will look like in 2020,” said Omar Soudodi, Managing Director of PAYFORT.

Access to PAYFORT’s assessment of the future of e-commerce will be essential for well-established companies and startups alike that seek to stay abreast of e-commerce trends. The report also provides crucial information on consumer demographics, popular online products, and online payment methods in the key electronic payment markets of the UAE, KSA, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Jordan.

As in years past, e-payments in the region remain centered around the sectors of airlines, travel, e-commerce, events, and marketplace services. This year’s State of Payments in the Arab World also covers the market size for e-payments in different sectors, critical data on acceptance, chargeback ratios, the volume and size of current transactions.

The State of Payments in the Arab World’s statistics on e-payments in travel and airline booking – the largest e-payment sectors in the region- will be made available starting May 4th at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) event in Dubai, which runs from 4-7 May. The second part of the report, featuring sections on the events and service industries as well as e-commerce in general, will be released on May 12 at the Ecommerce Show Middle East in Dubai.

“Our goal continues to be to take the industry to the next level by equipping businesses and their customers with secure, easy-to-use e-payment options,” said Soudodi, “This report is crucial in informing our clients in what lies ahead.”

The report’s analysis is derived from the markets in which PAYFORT operates. The report will be available at no cost for those who register at
