Welcome to State of Payments 2017

Welcome to State of Payments 2017

Back in 2013, PAYFORT launched with a simple goal in mind, to create a better connection between businesses and their customers through improved payment options. Since then, we’ve handled thousands of transactions and worked with some of the leading businesses across the Arab world.

Throughout our journey in the world of online payments, we’ve learned just how valuable knowledge can be to a business. Whether you’re a fresh start-up looking to change the world or an established enterprise already doing it, understanding the current state and future trends of the region are critical to success in the Middle East.

That’s why each year we seek out the most relevant regional data for our readers and 2017 is no exception. We may be a little later than previous years, but we promise State of Payments 2017 is well worth the wait!

New Data, New Interactive Format

If you’ve been reading State of Payments over the last four years you know the report has always been about the data, and there’s a lot of it. This is great in many ways (the more you know the better) but it does lead to a few challenges. From our very first report, we’ve always been looking for the most effective way to present the data we gather and this got us thinking… Maybe we shouldn’t be deciding how the data is presented at all.

SOP 17

That’s why the 2017 edition of PAYFORT’s State of Payments has been redeveloped from the ground up to deliver a brand new, fully-customizable, interactive report experience. This year, you create the report you want to see.  You get full access to a wide range of data and insights from seven key countries (Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE) and four online payment segments: airline, travel, ecommerce (online shopping) and entertainment sectors.

This year we’re giving you the tools to create and customize your very own State of Payments report.

Get The Insight Your Business Needs

With the new State of Payments format you can focus on the data that’s most important for you and your organization. The combinations are almost unlimited and we’ve done our best to create tools and filters that make getting the information you need as easy as possible. Check out just some of the insights you’ll have access to.

SOP 2017

A total of $30.4 billion of goods and services were purchased online in the seven countries during 2016, increasing 22 percent on the $24.9 billion of payments during 2015. The top countries in terms of dollar value and growth in value were the UAE with $12.4 billion of transactions and 21 percent annual growth in total amount paid online; Saudi Arabia with $8.3 billion of transactions and 27 percent growth; and Egypt with $6.2 billion of transactions and 22 percent growth.

Good afternoon! We are the company that provides customers for coffeeshop, and we want to introduce our company into your payment system, so that people can pay to our service. The estimated number of payments will be from 1000 to 5000 per month. I will be very glad for our joint cooperation!
