What is a conference to you?
Is it a chance to meet new people and potential clients? Or is a conference an opportunity to discover innovative concepts that could transform your business?
Or maybe they’re just a waste of time – a lost day where you’ll listen to ill-informed speakers talk about social media as if it were a new thing, while you accumulate soon to be recycled business cards.
The reality lies somewhere in the middle. Conferences can be invaluable, especially if you are new to the Middle East and looking to expand your network. But they are also expensive and can be full of content and contacts that will be irrelevant to your business.
Above all, conferences take up time, and if you are managing a business that is your most precious resource. This means it’s important to know which conferences to attend and which ones to miss out.
To help you make those decisions, we’ve curated the below list of engaging conferences in Dubai and the rest of the Middle East.
At Payfort we recently attended (and loved) Cairo ICT and ArabNet Riyadh, and will be exhibiting or speaking at DGTL#U, Arabian Travel Market, Future Tourism, and Cards and Payments Middle East 2015. If you’re going to be at any of those events be sure to swing by our booth and say hi!
What conferences are you attending in the next two quarters? And if you’re the organizer of an upcoming conference, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll try to add you to the list.
