Does PAYFORT provide Tokenization service?
Yes, The Token service allows the merchant to store the customer’s credit card details in a safe and secure environment and substituting the customer's sensitive card details with a non-sensitive equivalent referred to as a Token.The Token can be used to process transactions without the use of the card details.

No, there will be no fees for local transfers only.

What currencies can I accept?
You can accept payments in over 80 currencies. Contact us for an up-to-date list of foreign currencies and more information about presenting transactions in multiple currencies.
What currencies can I settle in?
Settlement of the money will be in either the local currency of the company’s legal setup or USD.
How long is the settlement period?
1-2 weeks, it varies according to the bank agreement.
START by PAYFORT
Is a merchant account necessary for getting a START account?
No it is not necessary to have a merchant account, after the START team reviews your company application and approves it, a live account will be added and you can start accepting online payments.
Does START work with individuals?
Unfortunately a registered company is necessary.
How much time does it take to get a live account?
It usually takes 3-10 days after all required documents are submitted. In some rare cases it can take longer. You will get email notification when your company application has been approved and the live account has been added to your Start account.
What are the requirements needed to start accepting payments through START?
If you were invited to sign up for a Start account, just sign up and follow the setup guide. There are steps to submit company documents and steps to add Start to your website.After your company application is reviewed and approved, you can start accepting payments on your website or mobile application.
What Payment methods does START accept?
Credit Card, Visa and MasterCard, START does not accept PayPal or any other payment methods.
Does START offer email receipts?
Yes, by default email receipts are sent to the merchant and to the customer after each charge
How are refunds issued?
START allows partial refunds, so you can choose to refund the entire amount, or a part of it if you wish. Multiple partial refunds can be done as well.
How does the START refund policy affect the START account?
You need your own refund, cancellation, and adjustment policy. It must be displayed to the cardholder during the order process either:
- - On the same screen as the checkout screen indicating the total transaction amount.
- - Within the sequence of web pages accessed by the cardholder before the final checkout.
How long does it take for a refund to reach the customer?
Refunds are sent to your customer’s bank immediately. Money will be returned to your customer in 5-10 working days. Sometimes it can take longer.
If a refund is issued, how much will the merchant pay for it?
Refund is free as well as the return percentage taken for the charge.
What authorizations does a merchant need from a client for a recurring charge?
You need proper permissions from the user (might be in the form of an email or sign up form, etc.). Permissions should include:
- - Transaction amount, unless the recurring transactions are for varying amounts
- - Frequency of the recurring charges
- - Duration for which Cardholder permission is granted
- - Also please provide a simple and easily accessible online cancellation procedure.
What currencies does start support?
Currently START supports only the local currency of the country we work in (UAE is an exception):

What should a payment receipt include?
A payment receipt should include the following information:

With Start, you can accept payments from almost any credit/debit card, no matter where your customer lives. However, to accept payments with Start, your business must be based in one of the countries Start supports: * UAE Here’s a list of countries that are currently in private beta:

How can disputes be prevented?
You can protect yourself from unfair chargebacks by collecting the following information (depends on your business):
- - Cardholder signature on the pick-up form
- - Copy of identification presented by the cardholder
- - Details of identification presented by the cardholder
- - Purchaser’s IP address
- - Purchaser’s e-mail address, description of the goods downloaded, date and time goods were downloaded, proof that the merchant’s website was accessed for services after the transaction Date
- - Reason Code 75 – Cardholder Does Not Recognize Transaction
- - Reason Code 83 – Fraud Transaction—Card Absent Environment
How does a chargeback work?
We receive chargebacks/disputes from our acquiring bank. Here are the most common chargeback reasons:
- - Services not provided or merchandise not received
- - Cancelled recurring transaction
- - Not as described or defective merchandise
- - Fraud
- - Credit (Refund) not processed
What is 3D-Secure?
3-D Secure is a technology that helps verify the buyer’s identity and ensure the cardholder is really participating in the transaction. Usually, this happens by asking for OTP (one time password) that buyer receives during purchase on his phone linked to the card. In theory, only cardholders will know the password; fraudsters shouldn’t know it and, therefore, won’t be able to complete the transaction.

We have created plugins for the most popular shopping carts which can be used for free.
Can I use USD/EUR/ bank account to receive payouts from Start?
Start has accounts in local currencies only. Money is sent from our account to your account in local currency only. When money is sent to your AED account, it will be reflected on the same day. If the account is in another currency, then it can take 2-3 days.
What is the settlement procedure?
Each Sunday we send money to your company bank account. We settle for free in AED.We transfer money only if you have > ~30$ in your balance.In rare cases, we can delay with payouts, but we will notify you about it.
