How to give better presentations

Have you ever been stuck in a presentation that just didn’t seem to end? Or even worse didn’t really seem to go anywhere or communicate anything? These types of presentations usually have a few things in common; the presenter isn’t organized, the pace is slow and is bogged down by trivial information, and worst of all they fail to accomplish their goal.

Unfortunately, many (if not most) presentations fall victim to the above shortcomings. The result is an audience that came in excited and ready to learn, leave bored and uninterested in what you said.

As much as we hope that our presentations are the exception to this trend the reality is that unless you’re taking the time and putting in hard work, they rarely are. So what can we do to change the situation?

The answer is simple – take the time and put in the hard work!

Lucky for you we’ve put together an easy to digest infographic to get you on the right track. While it won’t make you a presentation master overnight, it will help make sure you’ve got the fundamentals down.

Abandoned Shopping Cart Campaigns That Work

For marketers around the world there are few things as heart breaking as an abandoned shopping cart. It’s become common knowledge that a certain percentage of users will land on your site, spend time adding items to their cart, then simply abandon it before completing the final transaction.

And unless you have a strategy to reengage those customers, your ecommerce site won’t be making as much money as it could. From the numerous studies on consumer behaviour, it’s almost a guarantee that your missing out on potential orders because of abandoned carts.

According to the Baymard Institute, a UK based research organization, 67.45% of online shopping carts that are initiated actually end up abandoned. That means that for every one hundred customers that take the time to add an item to their cart, sixty-seven leave without completing the purchase.

Abandoned shopping carts represent a substantial opportunity for crafty marketer. But by re-engaging with these customers in the right way you can often save what would otherwise be a lost sale. So how can you better engage your customers and turn them from abandoners to purchasers? Check out our infographic guide to help you create an abandoned shopping cart campaign that works!

The Future of Marketplace Services in UAE

A few weeks ago we sat with Dunia Othman of MrUsta to discuss her business and the state of the UAE’s services industry. After our chat we felt that there was more to the story of Usta’s in this region and we wanted to learn more about what has traditionally been a very opaque industry.

We reached out to Dunia for help and she provided us with a wealth of information about both MrUsta and the services industry. As we started looking through the data we were surprised to see just how big the services industry is in the UAE. Did you know that nearly 25% of the countries SMEs are in the services industry? Or that 87% of these businesses aren’t currently marketing online?

After spending some time looking through data we knew what we needed to do, it was time for an infographic. This week, in partnership with MrUsta, we’re sharing some of the latest data on the UAE’s service industry, check it out below:
